Iroquois Falls Christmas Bird Count

December 14, 2024

Free

The Christmas Bird Count is North America’s longest-running citizen science project

They’re looking for volunteers to make the study even better by counting the birds that are wintering around Iroquois Falls, Nellie Lake, Porquis Junction, and Monteith.

This will be the 17th year that we’ve counted the winter birds in this area but we can always use more volunteers so we can cover the area more thoroughly and there are 2 ways to participate.

The easiest is to count the birds at your birdfeeders for at least 4 hours of the day and send your tally to the coordinator at the end of the day.

And the 2nd is a more physical challenge, meet them at the Tim Horton’s on Cambridge Ave between 8:15 and 8:45 on December 14th to divide up the walking, skiing, snowshoeing, and driving routes.

All ages and skill levels are welcome.
