Moose Cree First Nation preparing winter ice road

Work crews continue to prep the winter ice road that connects Highway 11 to the James Bay Coast. Moose Cree First Nation announced last week that flooding began on a stretch of the Moose River to increase ice thickness.

The report on the Moose Cree website stated that 18 inches of ice is required for the road to officially open.

The winter ice road begins north of Otter Rapids and can be accessed from Highway 634 in Smooth Rock Falls.
