Two Hearst residents are reporting good progress in their snowshoeing and skiing trek from Fort Albany to Hearst down the river system.
J-P Marineau and Pat Beauparlant flew to Fort Albany last Friday to begin the Great Challenge 2025 that’s aimed at raising $125,000 towards a new main cabin for Camp Source de Vie.
In a Facebook post, the two stated that they had taken a well-deserved rest day, and hope to hit the halfway mark in their 450 kilometre journey sometime next week.
They add the energy level is high despite difficult weather conditions including heavy snowfall that slowed down their travel.
