Technology helps impaired driving case

The OPP’s Automated Licence Plate Recognition system gets the assist for an impaired driving charge in Cochrane.

At about 6:00am Thursday, the vehicle being driven by a 31-year-old local woman was pulled over on Second Avenue, after the system identified her as a suspended driver.

She was also charged with driving while under suspension and handed a court date next month.

In the meantime, her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
