A fitness test called The Shuttle Run is part of an OP Police recruitment event in Kapuskasing this Friday.
It’s at Rock Box Cross Fit (Brunelle Road) from 1:30 until five in the afternoon. Constable Kyler Brouwer says there will be specifics on the application process in addition the shuttle run.
“A distance of 20 meters, and you are running back and forth over and over to a beep,” he said. “So the beep starts out slow and you are going back and forth at a slow pace and each progressive level it gets faster and faster.”
Brouwer says anyone who reaches the mandatory level seven or higher will receive a certificate to prequalify their fitness test to become an officer. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m., the event will officially start at 2:00 p.m. sharp.
