Storm looking for billet families

As the Iroquois Falls Storm approaches its sophomore season in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, it’s recruiting billet families.

Billet coordinator Stéphanie Giguère says she’s nailed down 20 families. She needs 25 and a handful of back-ups and temporary homes, to ensure players are well cared for if their billet families are away for a bit during the hockey season.

“We know that it’s still early in the season, it’s summertime, people are not thinking about hockey season just yet,” she acknowledges, “so we’re just hoping that it ends up piquing interest sometime soon, because the players are coming sometime mid-August.”

Giguère’s also looking for a couple pet-free homes for players who have allergies.

More information about billeting is on the Storm website.
